Five Major Areas Of Iraqi Textile And Other 22 State-Owned Enterprises Will Be Open To Foreign Investment.

Iraq's Ministry of industry and mineral Affairs said it will open 22 State-owned enterprises to the outside world.

Adel Kareem, Vice Minister of Iraq's Ministry of industry and mineral resources, said that these companies mainly involve 5 areas: Engineering, construction, textile, chemical and petrochemical, food and medical care.


Kareem said on the 5 th that Iraq is actively looking for investors to re energize these state-owned enterprises and will reach agreement on the distribution of product interests in the form of negotiation.


Kareem said investors could submit their applications by July 10th.

Although the surge in oil prices has brought many benefits to the Iraqi government, Iraq's investment in the public sector is still struggling because of corruption and security problems.
