German Imports Of Shoes And Garments From China Have Increased Exponentially.

German consumers are increasingly buying Chinese made goods, including clothing, footwear, toys and electronic products.

According to the data released by the German Federal Statistical Bureau, the total value of imports from China last year amounted to 48 billion 800 million euros, accounting for 6.7% of its total imports, compared with 2.6% only ten years ago.

China has become the third largest source of imported goods in Germany after France and Holland.

The German Federal Statistical Office said that Germany's imports of high-value technology products from China increased significantly compared with 1996. Last year, such products accounted for more than 1/5, including mobile phones and consumer electronics.

And imports of computers and accessories from China account for nearly 1/3 of Germany's total imports.

Imports of China's main products, clothing, footwear and toys doubled, leather goods accounted for 29% of total German imports and toys nearly 60%.
