Future Clothing Can Record Physical Discomfort.

Patients wear a special smart clothing. Once the body parts are abnormal, the sensors on the clothes will store the signals for doctors to diagnose.

On the 7 day, at the first International Forum on modern textile technology held at Wuhan Textile University, nearly 20 top textile experts from more than 10 countries portraying the appearance of future garments.

Tao Xiaoming, chief professor of textile discipline at Hong Kong Polytech University, predicts that the development of smart textiles and clothing will have a huge impact on human life.

The so-called "smart textiles" refers to textiles that have the ability to perceive or respond to external stimuli. For example, there is a color changing fabric that can automatically change colors with the environment and temperature. The soldiers can change colors with the environment to hide themselves and confuse the enemy.

People from Wuhan Textile University said that the future advanced intelligent clothing will integrate wireless remote control technology, GPS global positioning system, temperature sensors and thermal insulation materials.

If a patient wears a clothing with special sensors, it can be used to monitor the changes of the body at any time, just like taking a close doctor.

GajananBhat, director of the nonwoven materials research laboratory, University of Tennessee, said nanotechnology provided new products for the textile industry.

Because of its high specific surface area, nanofibers can be used as efficient filtration media, tissue engineering scaffolds, adsorbents, and even artificial blood vessels.
